Indoor plant care tips

Indoor plant care tips

Caring for your indoor plants can be both rewarding and therapeutic. Follow these guidelines to help your plants thrive

  1. Light Requirements: Most indoor foliage and flowering plants flourish in good light but not direct sunlight. Position your plants in a well-lit area where they can enjoy bright, indirect light. Avoid placing them in spots with intense, direct sunlight to prevent leaf burn.
  1. Temperature and Environment: Ideally, keep your plants away from draughts, cold, and direct sources of heat. Maintaining a stable environment will help your plants stay healthy and stress-free.
  2. Watering: As a general guide, most indoor plants require thorough watering once a week. It’s better to allow the soil to dry out slightly between waterings rather than topping up with water every day. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so always check the soil moisture before watering.
  3. Maintenance: Regularly remove any dead flowers and leaves as they occur. This not only keeps your plant looking tidy but also prevents the spread of disease and pests.
  4. Surface Protection: Do not place your planted basket directly onto an unprotected surface. Always use a protective mat or coaster to prevent potential water damage to your furniture.
  5. Additional Tips:
    • Humidity: Some indoor plants, especially tropical varieties, benefit from higher humidity. Consider misting the leaves occasionally or placing a humidifier nearby.
    • Feeding: Feed your plants with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer every month during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce feeding in the fall and winter when plant growth typically slows down.
    • Repotting: Check if your plant needs repotting. When your planted basket has finished flowering, it can be time to remove the bulbs to dry out and/or move any plants to a larger pot with fresh soil.  Spring bulbs if dried,  can be replanted in the autumn ready for next the next flowering season.

We hope your gift brings you much pleasure. If you have any concerns, please contact us within 24 hours of receipt.

By following these care instructions, your indoor plants will remain healthy, vibrant, and a beautiful addition to your home.
